FAQs

The Quality Food Awards can be entered online. You will find our full list of categories and can enter the awards here.

To be eligible for entry, your product must be available to purchase in the UK, either instore or online.

This can be in a multiple, independent retailer, farm shop, deli, market etc., or on any website whether self-managed or hosted, for example Amazon.

You can enter a wide range of products into the Quality Food Awards. You can see the full list of categories here.

Not necessarily! Our judges will award each product with the accreditation it deserves. This means that, for example, multiple Gold Qs could be awarded in one category and then no awards at all in another. This keeps the process fair and does not mean that your product is judged against others in the category, but on its own merit against our strict criteria.

Christmas categories:

All Christmas results will be announced online in early September. Our Christmas Retailer of the Year will also be announced then too!

All year-round categories winner’s announcement:

We are delighted to be returning to a live event again for 2024, towards the end of the year. We have consulted with our QFA community of entrants, sponsors and partners and the decision to run the awards in-person again has been received extremely positively. Watch this space for more information!

Our category criteria will help you decide where your product is best suited.

If you have an unusual product and need advice, you can contact Event Manager Jo Griffith on entries@qualityfoodawards.com who will be more than happy to assist you.

Yes you can!

After you have filled out your product questions in the online entry form, there will be an option at the bottom of the page to add another category to your "basket". By doing this, you can then fill out an entry form for the second product you wish to enter, and continue this process until you have filled out entry forms for all of your chosen products and categories.

Don't forget, you can "Save" along the way, if you don't have all of your product information to hand, and come back to complete the form later.

There will be an option after filling out your first products' questions where you can add further products to your "basket". There is no limit to the number of categories you can enter.

Yes but don't forget to click on 'Save' or 'Save for later' to add your entry to your basket if you don't have all the information required at the time. You will then be able to go back to this point and complete your entry at a later stage.

Yes! Products are judged on their individual merit within the category you enter.

If you enter similar products into the same category, they will all still have the chance to be shortlisted and put forward for an award.

Products are judged on the following criteria: taste; flavour; texture; aroma; ingredients list; provenance, value for money; innovation; packaging; presentation. Take a look at our How it Works page for further details.

A good entry will follow all of the 10 key category criteria (see the criteria here)

If you would like some additional guidance, then please feel free to get in touch with our team, who will be more than happy to help.

Entry fee per product: £469+VAT

If you are a small producer with fewer than 10 staff and annual sales under £2 million you are eligible for a reduced rate and should complete and submit the Small Producer Form before entering a category. You will be given a discount 'promo code' to use in the entry form which will bring your entry cost down to £79+VAT.

Unfortunately not! We don't automatically award a Bronze, Silver and Gold in each category. This means that, potentially, all 3 shortlisted entries in the category could win Gold, or maybe none of you will receive an award this time. You'll have to wait and see!

If you have a discount voucher you will be asked to enter this on the payment page in the 'Promo code' field, only then will your discount will be visible.

Yes, simply log into your account on our website, and you will find your completed entries on the panel to your left. You can then edit these entries right up until judging begins.

You will receive confirmation via email as soon as your entry has been submitted. At the end of June, you will then receive an email with full Delivery Details of where and when to send your products for the judging.
You will also receive an attachment in the same email containing a delivery label to fill out and stick on to each product you have entered.

Products should be sent directly to the judging venue. You will receive delivery instructions via email, which will include the date and location to send your products to. Please do not send your products in until you have received this information, as noone will be on site to accept your deliveries.

Yes! All products entered will receive full judges' feedback. Due to the high number of entries we receive, these will be compiled and sent to you the month following the awards presentation.

Logos will emailed to you in a variety of formats following the release of the shortlist and winners announcements.
