Kitchen Team

The Quality Food Awards are delighted to welcome back our fantastic kitchen team to this year's judging. The team behind the scenes preparing our entrants' products will be headed up by Bridget Colvin and Gemma Stoddart.

Bridget and Gemma bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to judging; they will lead a team who will be working both front-of-house, and in the kitchen, ensuring that all products are prepared to the highest standard and that the judging process runs smoothly.

Bridget Colvin, Chef and Home Economist

An accomplished chef and teacher, Bridget has worked with many great names in the food industry from Michel Roux Jr, Jamie Oliver and Gennaro Contaldo to name a few. As well as her role as Home Economist, Bridget provides private dining to both corporate and regular clients. Sought after by chefs for her expertise and experience, Bridget is a familiar face in the industry regularly working alongside celebrity chefs at food shows and runs the kitchens for some of the big food events like Ideal Home, The Cake and Bake Show and Fully Charged Live.

Bridget also develops and tests recipes for both food manufacturers and chefs launching new cookery books and works as a food stylist for major food brands. Recent regular clients include, California Raisins, Gallo, Nutella – Ferrero, Parmigiana Reggiano and BP.

In demand as a new product developer, Bridget is currently working on several innovative projects for food producers as well as regularly heading up the kitchens for the Quality Food Awards 2023.

Gemma Stoddart, Chef and Home Economist

Gemma Stoddart is an experienced chef, home economist, recipe writer and consultant. Since training at Leiths School of Food and Wine, she has enjoyed a varied career in food media and hospitality. As a home economist for television, Gemma works on BBC 1’s Saturday Kitchen Live as well as a wide range of other shows-most recently Channel 4’s Rise and Fall. She has also worked on projects for brands such as Samsung, Tabasco, Kenwood and Heinz. Alongside her work in tv and digital content, Gemma also writes recipes and consults for food brands.
