Seasonal New Product Launch

UK retailers including Tesco, Aldi, and Morrisons are launching a diverse range of new food products this October, blending international flavours, festive treats, and comfort foods to excite adventurous shoppers and embed innovation in the seasonal market.

This October, UK supermarkets are showcasing an enticing array of new food products, appealing to adventurous food lovers eager to explore fresh flavours and seasonal treats. Retailers including Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, B&M, and Aldi are introducing a diverse selection ranging from savoury pies and crisps to nostalgic biscuits and festive sweets.

A notable highlight is the return of iconic Australian biscuits Tim Tams to UK shelves as a permanent fixture. Tesco is stocking both the original and a limited-edition Sweet & Salty variety. This new flavour combines the classic chocolate coating and creamy filling with a salty cracker element, offering a novel sweet and savoury experience. Priced at £2.50, it has already drawn attention as a must-try for biscuit aficionados. The Tim Tam range had earlier secured placements in Waitrose and Ocado, which included Original, Dark, and Chewy Caramel variants, reflecting growing UK appetite for international snacks.

In the pie category, Fray Bentos introduces a creative twist with its Mac & Cheese pie now available at B&M stores. This addition to the brand’s recognized hearty pie portfolio pairs creamy macaroni cheese with signature pastry, fitting seamlessly into comfort food trends. Fray Bentos is also known for other varieties such as its Chicken Curry Pie, featuring tender chicken in a rich curry sauce, widely available across various retailers, reinforcing the brand’s standing in the ready-meal sector.

Aldi has revamped its Bilash Indian food range, offering mains and sides like Paneer Curry, Goan Style Prawn Curry, and Mushroom Rice, catering to growing consumer interest in diverse, flavourful ethnic cuisines at accessible prices.

Snack lovers can enjoy the new Kettle Krinkle crisps, launched with distinctive textures and cuts. Flavours such as Sweet Chilli & Sour Cream, Balsamic Vinegar of Modena and Lightly Salted are available at Asda and Morrisons. Meanwhile, Walkers has introduced two limited-edition crisp flavours in multi-packs: Emmental Cheese and Beef Wellington, adding an indulgent, gourmet twist to classic snacking.

Seasonal products also add festive cheer, with Marks & Spencer releasing Pumpkin Colin the Caterpillar mini rolls for Halloween, and Bailey’s launching a Christmas Yule Log available at Asda. Nando’s meanwhile has expanded beyond its core offerings with gift sets featuring sauces and themed treats, now stocked at Boots.

Complementing these launches, established brands are expanding their ranges: Cathedral City has unveiled three ready meals including Sausage and Bean Bake, Chicken and Leek Pie, and Fish Pie, available across multiple UK supermarkets. Colman’s mustard brand has diversified into nut snacks with a new Peanuts and Cashews flavour at Sainsbury’s, while Heinz has introduced three innovative varieties of its Beanz range, including Tagine, Pizza, and Sweet & Sour flavours available nationwide.

These product introductions reflect an ongoing trend in supermarkets to blend familiarity with innovation, catering to both comfort-seeking and curious shoppers. The seasonal tie-ins, combined with international inspirations and premiumised snack options, underscore the dynamic nature of the UK food retail market this autumn.
