We have made the decision to make a change to our scoring system this year. We are moving to a Bronze, Silver and Gold awarding system as we have come to the conclusion that it's the best way to award the best products in each category.

For those of you who have entered the Quality Food Awards before, we have essentially renamed the awards:

• Commended is now Bronze
• Highly Commended is now Silver
• Winner is now Gold

This is a scoring system that we have been using for many years with our sister brand, the Irish Quality Food and Drink Awards. 

Research suggests that consumers can identify a product they would like to purchase more easily using the new Gold, Silver and Bronze system; this change has come about to make the Q on your winning product as clear as possible to the end point customer, the consumers. 

Aside from the name change, everything else remains the same this year - a tried and tested judging and scoring system that has evolved over 44 years.
