JJ Foodservice announces ambitious plans to increase its product lines from 3,000 to 5,000 within two years
JJ Foodservice has unveiled ambitious plans to substantially grow its product range from 3,000 to 5,000 lines over the forthcoming two years.
This strategic move, from one of the UK's leading wholesalers, aims to align with anticipated market trends in the eating-out sector, which is predicted to see a resurgence by 2027.
The expansion represents a significant 67% increase in offerings and is part of a broader strategy to not only diversify its product range but also to extend its customer base. JJ Foodservice is actively pursuing this goal by planning new branches in London and looking at targeted acquisitions to solidify its market position.
In line with this strategy, the wholesaler acquired Gatelands Supplies earlier this year. This acquisition underscores JJ's commitment to tapping into emerging markets, particularly those focused on Korean, Thai, and Japanese cuisines. Commenting on this move, Chief Operating Officer Kaan Hendekli highlighted that an increased focus on new markets would provide the wholesaler with a, “stronger market influence.”
During a recent supplier conference, Chief Product Officer Sezer Ozkul elaborated further on the company’s plans amidst changing economic conditions. He acknowledged that the easing of inflation has begun restoring consumer confidence, which had waned over the past two years due to economic constraints. “The eating-out market is finally ready for a comeback,” Ozkul noted. He further emphasised, “The world food Asia market is one of the most exciting trends in foodservice. We’re expanding our range to meet demand for Asian fusion foods, serving restaurant customers who expect high-quality products and exceptional service.”
It was also revealed that JJ Foodservice has experienced a 15% increase in its advance order marketplace, a development praised by COO Hendekli for enhancing both visibility and sales. This marketplace innovation has reinforced JJ’s market position and appeal to suppliers and customers alike.
“Our commitment to expanding our physical presence with new branches in London presents exciting growth opportunities for suppliers,” Hendekli stated, underscoring the company’s strategic vision to enhance accessibility and service quality.
JJ Foodservice’s comprehensive strategy places significant emphasis on understanding and meeting evolving market demands, positioning itself as a pivotal player in the foodservice industry with an expanded range and broader customer reach. This approach appears to be setting the stage for the wholesaler’s increasing influence and success in the coming years.
