Christmas food is always a treat for the senses and despite the challenging circumstances we have found ourselves in this year, we are delighted that we have been able to continue to shine the light on outstanding products, producers, suppliers and retailers. The entries into the 2020 Christmas categories have yet again wowed our judging panel with their exciting innovation and of course, excellent taste. Our judges sampled over 300 products across a range of categories from canapes to centrepiece desserts and traditional favourites like mince pies and Christmas puddings. Of the entries, our chair of judges Simon Wright commented;
“The judges were impressed by the amount of care and attention put into QFA Christmas this year - there was a real commitment to make Christmas Food 2020 really special. Masses of innovation and lots of creativity made it tricky for us to agree on the winners, but I am happy that we found some great products. Well done to all who entered for doing such a great job in challenging circumstances.”
I would like thank all the judges that made the special effort to travel to our judging venue in Twickenham this summer ensuring that we could continue to feedback on those products entered with the same care and attention as always.
I would also like to say a special thank you to our Sponsors Invest NI and the Co-op for their continued support of the Quality Food Awards as well as our partners, The Food People, Working Options, Moving Food and OF+ Consulting.
I hope you are as excited to view our finalists and winners as I am to share them with you. Over the coming weeks we will be showcasing some of the winning products here so keep your eyes peeled for that and of course the Q logos on products in-store when you are planning your Christmas shopping!
