Andy Roe - Flavourfresh Salads Ltd

Andy is production manager at Flavourfresh Salads Ltd, a family owned business based in Lancashire that has been supplying ASDA for a quarter of a century. Working with the IPL ASDA produce technical team, he trials over 300 varieties of tomato a year, bringing perhaps only two or three British grown award-winning varieties to market each year. He was the grower behind the sweet aromatic tomato, the Tomkin and they are currently working on the Goutini Beef tomato.

 

Anna Barna - 108 Foods Ltd

Anna is the team lead of a small start-up and is credited with growing 108 from a relatively unknown brand to        one that is stocked in Planet Organic, WH Smith, BP Petrol Stations, and several other retail outlets. Having previously worked for Jeff de Bruges, Pierre Herme Paris and MARC Patisserie and bakery, Anna is now UK Head of Sales at 108 Foods Ltd. 

 

 

Debbie Davies - Contigo Management

Debbie has worked at a senior level in FMCG in both private and public sectors for over 20 years. A member of both the Chartered Institute of Marketing and Market Research Society, Debbie consults for a variety of clients drawing on her years of experience working for multi-nationals and SMEs. Debbie sits as a judge for the Quality Food Awards.

 

Diane Cox - Wyke Farms

Diane Cox is a Master Cheese Grader for Wyke Farms, a family business set up over 150 years ago. Diane grades over 100 cheeses every week, having started at Wyke Farms 11 years ago. She leads a team, ensuring all technical processes within the business are of the highest standard and the cheese produced is of the highest quality. 

 

James Kingham - FBDC

James has worked as a food technologist for companies such as Marks & Spencer, Cranswick Convenience and Iceland. He is currently Technical and Process Development Specialist at FBDC. James has served as a Quality Food Awards judge for a number of years. 

 

 

James Newton-Brown - Marks & Spencer

James Newton-Brown worked as a chef for 20 years in a variety of hotels and restaurants, rising to Group Executive Chef for Selfridges. He was then approached by Marks & Spencer to work in product development for them. His current role at the retailer is as Head of Product - Prepared Meals, Desserts, Frozen, FOTM & Hospitality. His products have won a number of Quality Food Awards over the years. 

 

Jane Milton - Jane Milton Food Industry Expert

Jane Milton has extensive experience in FMCG and sits on the boards of several food businesses, developing them as part of her consultancy. She works with major retailers and established brands to develop strategies and create products. She is chair of judges at the Quality Food Awards, a member of the Guild of Food Writers and a published bestselling cookery book author. 

 

Jason Danciger - Hana Group UK

Jason has spent over 35 years in the catering & leisure industry, starting as a chef at the helm of some of UK’s most prestigious restaurants and retail leisure groups. Jason then joined Marks & Spencer, heading up over 100 restaurants and 300 coffee shops. Jason joined the Hana Group last year and now works with Sainsbury, Baxter Storey and Whole Foods to offer handcrafted quality sushi made in front of customers. 

Jim Lyons - Aramark

With 43 years’ service in the hospitality industry, Jim Lyons is a key member of the Aramark Northern Europe craft team. Examples of Jim's work within the central innovation team include the development of new food concepts aligned with market trends such as MEX-ICO, Smokehouse BBQ and POWER Box Salads. As a tangible measure of this success, Jim’s food concepts have delivered an average increase in sales of between 15%-20% and on some occasions much higher.

Max MacGillivray - The Great Fruit and Veg Adventure

Max's ambition is to educate and inform children about fresh produce, in order to have a positive impact on children's health globally and increase the sales of fresh produce. Creating the Great Fruit and veg adventure has seen Max present to over 10,000 kids across the globe so far, sharing why fresh produce is so important and good for you.

 

Neil Nugent - Iceland

Having worked in head chef roles for a number of household brands, Neil Nugent then worked as an award-winning innovation chef for Asda, Waitrose and Morrisons. He now heads up the kitchen at Iceland and is credited with turning the retailer’s customer perception of the brand around with his innovative work and fantastic products.

 

Steven Poole - Grubworkz

Steven has worked with some of the top food companies in the country such as Oscar Mayer and Lyons Seafoods, developing not only food but new techniques of cooking. He is an NPD expert and has provided consultancy for the world’s most iconic food and drink brands. He is the Director and Owner of Grubworkz, and has served as judge for the Quality Food Awards for a number of years.

 

Timothy Silcock - Mon Stir Sauce

Timothy has created award winning chilli sauces, for example the 'Cheeky Girl', a mild sweet chilli. The latest addition is the 'Bad Boy' sauce which is hot as the name indicates. He co-founded The Little Chilli Shop in 2015, the only chilli shop in Wales.The Little Chilli Shop has become a tourist attraction, with people visiting to taste the sauces and hear Tim chatting about chillies, explaining the best way to get the most out of them from growing to cooking and eating

 

Vhari Russell - The Food Marketing Expert

Vhari Russell helps food businesses market themselves and network with others. She set up Grub Club Cambridge and has joined forces with Peter Sidwell to create the new food app – Simply Good Food TV. She uses social media and networking events to spread her enthusiasm for quality food and drink products. Vhari works with companies keen to get listings with key retailers and ensures the profile of those clients is at the right level to support sales.
